Well, who promised to eat healthy and to get rid of extra kilos in the new year? You may feel really enthusiastic about this idea. Good start! Unfortunately, people often are not well-informed about the most efficient ways to become lean and healthy.
Nowadays there is high number of diets, supplements and solutions, which make a promise for effective weight loss in a couple of weeks. So, you follow your diet plan accurately, exhaust your body in the gym and drink a plenty of water, but your scales freeze on the same number.
Most of us would lose mood and desire of changes after this fiasco. But don’t rush to eat your upset, taking cake, waffles and chips. Let’s see, what goes wrong, why your diet doesn’t work and how to correct mistakes.
#1. You follow fad diet
That’s right, you need to eat less calories than spend. But strict diets can cause reverse effect. When your body gets too few of energy, it begins to collect fat, in order to have stocks “for a rainy day”.

Even if you had a success with your only-water-and-broccoli-diet, your weight would return after you end dieting. In addition to this, drastic diet can be a culprit of your sluggishness, extreme fatigue, loss of concentration, nervousness and headaches.
Fix it: don’t try to get rid of extra pound in five days. Make balanced eating plan to be able to follow it for many years without feeling deprived. You’re even allowed to eat some sweets, but try to limit your sugar consumption to no more than 24g a day.

Fix it: fill your daily need of fats, eating nuts, oily fish, avocado and olive oil. Don’t be afraid about sugar, contained in fruits. It’s not the same with added sugar. Furthermore, fruits represent great source of vitamins, fiber and antioxidants, which can help you stay healthy.
#4. You drink calories
It seems that you eliminated all sugar-full products and your diet is healthy and strict enough. But what’s about beverages? Not only Cola, but also packaged juice and energy drinks may contain extremely high amount of sugar.
Fix it: substitute all beverages (especially alcohol) in your menu with lemon water and green tea to avoid drinking unnecessary, empty calories.
#5. You don’t sleep well
Yes, dear, your sleep plays a great role in your weight loss plan. Lack of high-quality sleep increases levels of stress hormone cortisol, which can increase your appetite. Moreover, too few of sleep can boost levels of the hormone ghrelin, triggering food cravings, and decrease amount of satiety-hormone leptin.
Fix it: experts recommend sleeping at least seven hours each night to prevent hormonal imbalance and improve your shape.
#6. You have underlying diseases
No diet can help you get rid of excessive weight, if there are any hormonal problems in your body. Too much of estrogen or cortisol may lead to poorly correctable weight gain. Women with underactive thyroid gland also suffer from low metabolic rate and unintentional weight gain as usual.
Fix it: consult with your doctor, if your diet is balanced and healthy, but you can’t lose extra kilos.
