The use of grapefruit for weight loss is confirmed scientifically, although the results for a number of reasons can hardly be called sensational: a researcher from the American Scripps clinic, Dr. Ken Fugioka, conducted a large-scale study that involved 100 men and women suffering from various forms of obesity.

Three times a day volunteers drank freshly squeezed juice from Florida grapefruits or ate half a grapefruit before eating. The experiment lasted 12 weeks. During this time, the participants, who did not change their eating habits, graphics and menus, lost 2-3 pounds in weight, and the doctors recorded a decrease in the level of insulin in their blood.

The researchers noted that, of course, with the overall improvement of the diet and the control of servings, the "grapefruit effect" would be much more noticeable. You can test this by experiencing one of the grapefruit diets.

Short grapefruit diet

Duration: 5 days;

Features: daily presence of grapefruit in the diet;

Recommended frequency: no more than 1 time in 6 months;

Observing a short grapefruit diet, it is important to monitor sufficient fluid intake. It is allowed to drink simple pure still water (not less than 1.5 liters per day), unsweetened tea (4 cups a day), 1 cup of coffee (without sugar and milk).
