Despite all these widespread opinions about potential cancerous and allergenic impacts of the GMOs, no studies have proved these assumptions.
In the mid-1990s, investigators tried to enrich soybeans with a protein, contained in Brazil nut. Following tests showed that these soybeans could trigger reaction in those, who have allergy to nuts. These products were never brought to the markets and were not sold to people.
Some of us are afraid that genetically modified foods can change their own DNA. The truth is that there is wide variety of processes and chemicals that avert genetic invasion in your organism. Even natural, non-GMO, plants consist of genes, which are foreign to you. It's completely impossible to get genetic alterations, when eating both genetically modified and natural foods.
The World Health Organization affirms that all GM products, which you can find on the international market, have passed food safety assessments and meet all standards, guidelines and recommendations of the FAO/WHO.
