Although you may have perfected your own style of applying your makeup on a daily basis, you could be missing techniques that might make the results even better. Not to say that you don’t know you’re doing, but imagine if your whole makeup process could be easier, and end with movie-quality looks each and every time.

Try these tips for 10 common makeup products:

#1. Concealer

When you’re applying your concealer, there is one area you want to avoid, and that is your eyelids. Putting concealer or foundation on your eyelids like a base, will not help your eyeshadow stick better, contrarily, it will cause wrinkles to show through.

#2. Foundation

Depending on how you want your foundation to look, you should apply it to your skin in different ways. If you’re interested in medium or full looking coverage, then you should use a makeup brush to spread your foundation. However, if you want a lighter look from your foundation, then it’s best to use your fingers.

#3. Powder

Generally, you don’t need to use too much powder on the whole of your face, just a very light layer. You should put a heavier layer of powder where your skin is more oily, so perhaps around your T-zone.

#4. Bronzer

You need to be careful when you use bronzer to make sure that your skin doesn’t look like it’s many different colors. The best trick to use is putting bronzer in continuation from your face to neck, all the way down to your chest.

#5. Blush

Instead of just spreading blush all over your cheeks, try smiling when you want to apply. The apples of your cheeks are where you want to put the blush, and from there making a sweeping motion up towards your hairline with the blush.

#6. Eyebrows

If you’re in between eyebrow stylings, you can still make them look neat by lining the top of the eyebrow with your powder or pencil.

#7. Lipstick

Putting your lipstick on seems super easy, right? All you need to do is make sure they’re covered. Actually, there is a preferable technique for this too. Start from the middle, and apply lipstick to your cupid’s bow and then outward.

#8. Eye shadow

For the most pulled together look in the end, you should begin your eyelid makeup with a neutral eyeshadow all over the lid to blend the skin tone before adding color.

#9. Eyeliner

You need to apply your eyeliner from the right angle for the best results. Don’t face the mirror head on. Get as close as you can, and lift your chin up and towards the mirror. Look down while lining your eyes.

#10. Mascara

When you’re in a rush, all you care about is getting some mascara on those lashes so that you don’t look quite as tired. You really want to take some extra time to put it on right, though. Start from the base of your lashes, and move the wand up in zigzag motions.

Making just a few little changes to your makeup routine can leave you looking like a celebrity every day.
