The director of Multi-National United, Piet Smit choose unpretentious Wikus to lead the resettlement of the aliens out of District nine. Smit thought that Wikus is weak. But it turned out that Wikus is a very strong person.

He was scared of turning into a prawn, but he managed to overcome his fears and continue to fight. He lost everything, but he never gave up. His body was weak, but his spirit was strong.

#2. Compassion is that which makes the heart of the good move at the pain of others

We see humanity at its best when Wikus turned back to save Christopher from death. Wikus felt compassionate and he wanted to protect his friends and let them go back to their planet. This movie shows that when you show compassion, you bring out the kindest feelings in people.

#3. Being meek is doesn't mean being weak

The prawns don't look like people in this movie. But the more you watch it, the more you sympathise these creatures. Christopher was an alien and an ordinary father. He was trying to save his son and come back home. He was kind and meek towards other prawns and humans, but he never treated them bad.
