Although the idea of a soulmate sounds like something from a Disney production, sometimes, life proves that there is some truth behind it. For some, a soulmate is someone sent to them by God, for others it is just someone who “gets” them better than most people. The general idea is that a soulmate is someone who you can see spending your whole life with, until death do you part.
Some people worry about whether or not they have a soulmate, while others worry about whether or not they are able to recognize theirs. So, let us give you some clues about how to identify yours.
#1. You’re best friends
Sometimes, you start out as friends before becoming a couple. You might even be best friends at first. But how could your soulmate be your best friend? They could, and they definitely should, because you must be able to confide in your soulmate completely. And aren’t best friends the ones you can absolutely confide in?
#2. They share your values
If both you and your would-be soulmate have an almost identical set of values, it is usually a very strong indication that you have met “the one”.

#3. You have a shared vision of the future
We are not talking here about sharing your plans for the weekend. Your soulmate should have similar life goals to yours. What’s more, you should be able to effortlessly picture your future together. If you’re excited about the thought of them being part of your future, you’re on the right track.
#4. You’re prepared to fight for your relationship
If the WHY of being with someone is so strong that you’d do anything to hold on to them, that is a clear sign that you might have met your soulmate. You only fight for dear life to hold on to them if they truly are worth it, because they are the one for you.

#5. You resonate
If they unexpectedly do things you would do, or like things you like, or act the way you use to, it is a strong sign that the two of you resonate. That usually only happens with a soulmate.
#6. You love their flaws
If you are bothered by someone’s flaws, they for sure are not your soulmate. With a soulmate, you just love their little quirks, their unexpected flaws, their human imperfections.
#7. They motivate you
In the past, you had a hard time getting out of bed in the morning, but now you rise and shine at 6:00 AM. Yes, soulmates tend to have that effect. They motivate you and make you bite big chunks of life “con gusto,” just by being by your side.
#8. They make you feel safe
If you feel that, with them, nothing wrong could ever happen to you, no one would be able to hurt you in any way or that they are the one person you can always, always can count on, there’s a very good chance that they are your soulmate. Or one of your parents. Just kidding.
#9. They support you no matter what
You found your soulmate if they are always taking the “I know you can do this!” stance, instead of “Are you sure you want to do this?”. The one who always believes in you and helps you believe in yourself is almost certainly your soulmate.
