It seems that it is all about fat these days. But very often people can’t really differentiate between various kinds of fat and can’t clearly say that these fats are bad and these are good. That leads to the consumption that all fat should be avoided at all cost. Which is wrong and we are going to explain why.

The first thing you should know is that there are two kinds of fat. Dietary fat and body fat. Dietary fat – is the fat that you consume with food and which provides you with the energy required for your daily activities. Body fact is the fat stored by your body for the insulation and to protect your organs, but it does not mean that too much of it right for you.

Now, when you know about kinds of fat, it is time to learn what they come from and how your body uses them. The thing is that the primary purpose of dietary fats is to supply your body with necessary energy but if you do not burn most of what you consume it contributes to your body fat and lead to many health issues such as heart disease, overweight, etc.

Saturated fat – this kind of fat mainly comes from animal sources and actually is right for you if you consume it in moderate amounts. But some plants have it too, such as palm and coconut oil.

Trans fats – these are the most dangerous ones, and you should avoid them at all cost. There are no benefits that they grant to your body, the most that come out of their consumption is harmful. All foods that have words "hydrogenated" or "partially-hydrogenated" on their list of components should be ignored by you.

Monounsaturated fat these are also good fats and mostly come from plant sources.

Polyunsaturated fat these are probably the best kinds of fat since they contain Omega-3 fatty acids and omega-6 fatty acids which are great for your body.

Last but not least, fats are mostly good and necessary for your body, but you have to be aware of the fat that one gram of fat has nine calories and your daily intake of fats should not be more than 30% of your daily calorie intake.
