People who adore hot drinks with exceptionally high temperatures are in great danger. It turns out that such a habit can lead to cancer. More specifically, a global international group of cancer researchers concluded that drinking beverages that are above 149 degrees Fahrenheit (65 degrees Celsius) could lead (and often lead) to esophageal cancer.
So, if you like very hot tea, coffee or other drinks, then you should understand that every day you expose your esophagus to micro-burns. It can seem to you that nothing very serious is happening, but over the years the problem is progressing.
A cup of hot tea can be compared to sunburn in the skin. Do you remember these sensations when the skin turns red and you touch it? If you drink tea above 70 degrees Celsius , it will be the same. This is the first degree burn.
It is interesting that boiling water is most loved in hot countries: South America, Africa or the Middle East. Therefore, much more people die from esophageal cancer here than in Europe. In general, buy a kettle with a thermometer. You should not boil water twice: warm it, 60-70 degrees Celsius will be enough.

If there is no such function in your kettle, always wait a few minutes until it cools down a little. The study involved an international group of 23 scientists. They wanted to know everything about the carcinogenicity of coffee, tea, mate and other popular hot drinks.
It turned out that coffee and tea by themselves are safe, but you just do not need to drink them immediately after pouring the mug with boiling water. Moreover, hot tea was placed in a row with such well-known carcinogens as lead (gets into the atmosphere from the exhaust pipes of cars), talc or acrylamide.
To confirm their findings, the scientists conducted a number of experiments in China, Iran, Turkey and South Africa. It turned out that it is customary to drink very hot tea in these countries and esophageal cancer is diagnosed more often than anywhere else.
Which country is on the other end of the spectrum? United Kingdom! Scientists believe that this is because people drink tea with milk more often than everywhere. If we talk about the combination of the taste qualities of drinks and their safety, then the ideal temperature for tea is 60 degrees Celsius , for coffee 58 degrees Celsius.
