However, researchers claim that your body starts burning extra fat only after first minutes of cardio routine. So if you need to burn fat, you should do at least one hour of daily exercise at once.

Or you can start with lifting weights first, as weight training before doing your cardio will diminish glycogen stores and force your body to burn more fat.

When you lift weights, your muscles use limited stores of creatine phosphate and glycogen. Each person has different stores of these substrates. If you lift weight more than thirty minutes, your glycogen stores runs out and your body starts using your muscles to get energy. So the best time for weight training is thirty minutes.

Overtraining

Too much exercise without recovery periods may lead to overtraining syndrome. This syndrome is usually accompanied by irritation, tiredness, sleep disorders, bad appetite and depression. Exercise scientists claim that overtraining may increase your risk of getting injuries and prevent you from going to the gym.

In order to prevent overtraining, you shouldn't train the same muscle group at least forty-eight hours. Give your body time to rest. It is very important to listen to your body and taking a break if you feel that you need it.
