#1. Keep head of the bed elevated – you may notice that reflux symptoms worsen at night, when you're lying down. Lift your upper body, placing more pillows under the head or putting blocks under the bedposts, in order to give gravity chance to relieve symptoms.

#2. Wear loose clothing – too tight clothing may put extra pressure on your stomach and aggravate heartburn. Try to loosen everything that holds you compressed and you'll feel really better.

#3. Drink a soda mix – such a cheap and simple thing, as baking soda, may help you get rid of heartburn in several minutes. Put a teaspoon of soda into the glass of water and sip it slowly. Baking soda can neutralize stomach acid and calm episodes of acid reflux.

#4. Go easy on caffeine – even if you don't drink coffee, you may still consume too much caffeine. The reason is that tea, soda beverages and chocolate contain caffeine too. According to the studies, large amount of caffeine may make your heartburn worse, especially if taken on an empty stomach.

#5. Add ginger – from the ancient times, ginger was well-known as heartburn-fighting remedy. Although it's still not clear enough, how does it works, but it's worth trying. Make a tea with ginger root to ease acid reflux. But try to avoid carbonated ginger-contained drinks, which can make you feel even worse.

#6. Try acupuncture – there is a little evidence that inserting needles into special points in your body can fight off heartburn symptoms. However some people with acid reflux find acupuncture really helpful.
