Recent research confirms: a hot bath burns not fewer calories than running and fast walking. A one-hour bath really burns an average of 126 calories. The same amount can be burned in 25-30 minutes of walking, British scientists said.

As part of the study, a hot bath and workout on a stationary bike was compared. It turned out that there is no need to sweat in the gym to lose weight. Moreover, the hour spent in a hot bath is more effective in terms of reducing sugar than training on a stationary bike.

This was proved by an experiment with 10 volunteers. They took a bath with water of 40 degrees. The next day volunteers used an exercise bike. Intensive training increased body temperature by 1 degree Celsius. At the same time, scientists measured the level of sugar in the blood.

The results showed that after taking a bath the peak sugar values were 10% lower than after the workout. The bath intake increased energy consumption by 80% (the expenditure exceeded 100 calories). Apparently, hot water stimulates the release of heat shock proteins.

They also help to lower the level of sugar due to improved control of glucose uptake. However, do not believe that taking a bath with too hot water can make you lose some pounds immediately. This is naïve, first of all.

If everything was so simple, we would lose weight, just lying on the beach or walking around the city on a hot day. Therefore, check the temperature of the water, it should not be too hot and do not take a bath for more than 40 minutes. There are some great recipes that you can use taking a bath to get even better results:

With sea salt and essential oils: the accelerators of blood circulation include ginger essential oil, as well as oils of grapefruit or orange. For such a bath, they are dissolved in fatty milk, in an amount of 4-5 drops, and the mixture is poured into water in which sea salt (500 grams) has been previously dissolved.

With sea salt and seaweed: a fucus or laminaria mite in the amount of 200-300 g is boiled in 1 liter of water, a mixture of 0.5 liters of chamomile tea is diluted (literally a couple of chamomile packets per half liter of water). Then the mixture is filtered, poured into a bath, and sea salt is added to the water.
