The relationships we have with our own selves are as important, varied, complicated and as beautiful as are our relationships with other individuals. It’s great when we learn to love and accept ourselves as we are, and equally as great when we work hard enough to become the versions of ourselves we’ve always desired to see.

Things like stretch marks can be annoying and appear aesthetically displeasing. You may feel the urge to get rid of them. Or perceive them as something completely normal! It’s your body and your own attitude towards the things that make you uniquely you. If you like these stretch marks gone, let’s make them go away.

What are stretch marks? Those are prolonged and narrow streaks on your skin that appear when the skin is stretched too quickly. Rapid weight gain, pregnancy or puberty are most common causes for stretch marks. They eventually do fade away to the point where they are hardly noticeable, but there are treatments that help reduce and prompt the visibility of stretch marks.

The one most common anti-stretch marks remedy is, of course, aloe vera, with its soothing and healing properties. Rub the aloe vera gel on the affected area, leave it for about 15 minutes, then rinse.

What to do: Mix the ingredients in a bowl. You can also put the mix in a pan, turn on a low heat and stir until the paste is smooth. After you let the mixture cool, if you choose the pan option, that is, rub this scrub on affected areas. Two to three times per week should do the trick, and it’s especially nice to do this during your bathroom routine. Please note that if you’re pregnant or nursing, consult your doctor about using essential oils or specific ingredients on your skin.
