After 12 weeks of training, some participants doubled their strengths, and their muscles grew significantly, while others had little or no change. Participants with worse results lost 2% of muscle mass and did not increase the strength at all, and genetic lucky ones increased muscle mass by 59. This is with absolutely identical exercises.
In his study, Dr. Robert Petrella suggested that the difference in the results with the same physical load depends on the number and efficiency of the satellite cells, the muscle stem cells.
In an earlier study, it was found that participants with good muscle hypertrophy had more satellites and their number increased rapidly due to training.

At the beginning of the experiment, participants with the best indices had an average of 21 cells per 100 muscle fibers, and by the 16th week of training, the number of satellite cells had grown to 30 per 100 fibers. Participants whose muscles did not increase during the experiment had about 10 satellite cells per 100 muscle fibers. This amount did not change after the workout.
The dependence of sports results on genetics was confirmed by another study. As a result of the same training, 17 out of 66 participants increased the cross-sectional area of muscles by 58% (call them successful athletes), 32 participants - 28%, and 17 genetic losers - 0%.

In the past, genes that provide people with an economical metabolism, were an evolutionary advantage, because it helped to survive in a hungry time. Today, when our lifestyle includes sedentary work and an excess of calories, these same genes cause health problems and obesity.
We can make such conclusion: all have problems with genetics. Some people are predisposed to the accumulation of fat, others are difficult to build muscle. Even among elite athletes, there are no people with ideal genetics, but they still work on shortcomings and achieve their goals.
With the same program, people with good genetics will show better results, but if you choose the right exercises, even the worst genetics will not prevent you from changing your body for the better. Continue to experiment, change your diet and exercises, then you will definitely achieve your goal, despite the genetics.
