The researchers conducted the study and found that telomeres – distinctive structures found at the ends of our chromosomes, which determine how fast the cells age - maintained their length in cancer patients who presided meditation for more than three months.

Shortened telomeres don't really cause a specific disease, but they shorten when people age and they are shorter in patients with cancer, diabetes, heart problems and high anxiety levels.
