All people desire perfection, since we all want to be loved, self-confident, good-looking and even ideal sometimes. And yet, there is no person without any flaws. The truth is, most of us are taught to hide them. We are often embarrassed of things that are not perfect about us. We deny or hide them, but is it really necessary?
Everybody has flaws, without any exceptions. Let’s face the fact that perfect people just don’t exist. Everyone is different, and our diversity is one of the best things we have. All people have their own amazing features, even though we are not ideal. But it’s very common for us to feel terrible about our flaws. It even hurts sometimes when we start thinking of them. The best solution to overcome our imperfections would be to embrace them and finally learn how to live with them. Alexis Yael has said an extremely wise thing once: we shouldn’t be embarrassed of our flaws, since they make each of us unique.
It’s not a secret that our imperfections are so difficult to accept. It seems so hard and sometimes even hopeless. But no matter how it seems, we can do it. If you want to lead a happy life, it’s important for you to finally deal with them and start thinking positively. People should love themselves for who they really are to enjoy their lives fully. We are going to introduce you 4 steps how to overcome your flaws.
#1 Think of your current flaws.
The very first thing you must do is to think whether there is anything you can do about the things that concern you. If we are talking about annoying habits, bad attitude or horrible impatience, one definitely should not accept, but work on them instead. To love yourself doesn’t mean that you must close your eyes on everything without trying to become better. Ask yourself if your flaw affects other people. Perhaps you can do something to get rid of it? Will it make you a better person?
#2 Decide what you are going to do next.
If you’ve come to the conclusion, that you actually can change something, it’s time to think of the next question. Will you? It’s only you who knows deep inside if this flaw is something you must get rid of. It may be something insignificant, like a not so perfect nose or some sarcastic wit, but it doesn’t mean you have to struggle with these trifles. Perhaps nobody even notices them, but you. And if there are some things that concern you a great deal and you are certain that they cause only troubles, but you can actually get rid of these flaws, go for it! Try hard, work on yourself and the results will surprise you. On the other hand, there may be some things one cannot change, or you just have no intention to do it. In this case the third step is for you.
#3 Try to change the perspective.
We often convince ourselves that our flaws are horrible, when they are actually not. What you need to do is to think of them from another point of view. Perhaps from the other perspective these things won’t seem so terrible or insulting. Imagine if you discovered that someone else has this flaw, what would you think of this person? If you wouldn’t mind it at all, forget about it.
#4 Accept your flaws
Finally, the most important thing you must do is to embrace your flaws. As soon as you have considered them from other perspectives, accept them and move on. You don’t have to compare yourself to other people and feel bad about your imperfections. It’s time to embrace them and it would be the best solution. Love yourself for who you really are!
These 4 steps will help you accept your flaws and start thinking more positively. Don’t forget about things you should work on and always try to be a better person. Keep in mind, that no human is perfect and it’s time to accept yourself for who you really are. Love your flaws!
