The lymphatic system is a part of the vascular system in vertebrates and humans, complementing the cardiovascular system. It plays an important role in the metabolism and purification of cells and tissues of the body. Unlike the circulatory system, the lymphatic system of mammals is not closed and does not have a central pump. The lymph circulating in it moves slowly and under low pressure.
One of the purposes of physical exercises (in particular in yoga) is the pumping of blood and lymph. In other words, getting rid of stagnant phenomena and improving circulation.
